DECEUNINCK NEWS

Today we want to talk about the benefits of Passivhaus or Passive Houses.

Passivhaus is a building standard defined by building or rehabilitating a home under specific parameters, in order to extremely reduce energy consumption, optimising air conditioning resources and reducing fossil fuel consumption and carbon footprint (CO2) by up to 80%.

Born in Germany in the 1970s, this standard had not yet been widely implemented until the 21st century.

With technology evolution, it is becoming easier to implement some characteristics of passive houses. In this context, one of the major changes on home and, simultaneously, easier to implement, is the windows renovation for high performance ones. The above, makes it possible to take a step forward in terms of insulation against both outside temperature and noise, improving comfort and well-being indoors. In addition, insulation allows significant energy savings, reducing electricity or gas bill at the end of the month.

Deceuninck brings from future the new Legend series which incorporates a third central sealing gasket and its 6 chambers in 90mm sash and 5 in 76mm frame makes it the most advanced and high performance solution on the market. Its architectural design, based on straight and smooth lines, provides a stylish finished for doors and windows used in Passivhaus building standards.

INNOVACIÓN Linktrusion

Just as other Deceuninck systems, Legend features the unique Linktrusion technology, combining innovative and traditional raw materials in its insulation, resulting in responsible performance in reply to fossil raw material scarcity and ecological needs.

If you have the opportunity to build a new house, there are other features to consider in order to achieve a near-zero emission home:
Windows or balconies orientation of a building. According to the area, best orientation significantly improves heat input in winter and fresh air in summer.
On the other hand, implementing a heat recovery system (whose function is the thermal exchange of air inside the home), manages to generate controlled ventilation 24 hours a day, improving the indoor air quality.
These changes not only improve well-being and comfort of each home, but also help to improve the sustainability and environment of the entire planet. Are we starting the Passivhaus revolution now?
